British or American English?

Najib says US tutors are coming to teach English in rural areas article here. Are schools now being flexible with both British and American spelling? So when one student spells 'realize' and another spells 'realise', are both acceptable?

Call me old-fashioned, but I prefer sticking to the British style of spelling. If not for anything else, just for uniformity. Students can't even spell properly as it is, hell, even some teachers can't spell properly. Sticking to one style ensures discipline for one, and a streamlining of language teaching.

And the cost? RM18 million. Ok, ok, so whose pockets are we lining now?

Enough with knee-jerk policies, THINK THINGS THROUGH FOR ONCE!
