As first time parents, I’m embarrassed to say we bought all the up-to-date items that parents, according to parenting magazines and brochures, absolutely needed. Well, what we ended up with was stuff that we hardly used and lighter pockets.
What we’ve discovered is – don’t get fooled by advertising and cool looking stuff. For instance we bought the Quinny Zapp pram. What we didn’t realise was it couldn’t recline, and could only take a child from 6 months on. It was easy when H was a teeny infant, we just borrowed the Maxi-Cosi Cabrio from my sis-in-law and snapped it onto the frame. When he got too big for the Cabrio, we had to look for a pushchair that could recline so he could lie down and nap in the pram.
We also wanted something easy to handle and light so we could bring it travelling. Hubby researched on the Net and discovered the Graco Citisport EDT (or Citilite). At only RM599 (compared to RM999 for the Zapp), it was very reasonable. It is light, easy to fold, has a 5 point harness, reclines and even has a basket for storing all the baby’s bits and bobs. We use the Graco constantly and most importantly H loves it.
